Going fom blue(or any colour) to silver
« on: 12 Jun 11 / 06:22 PM »
Going from blue(or any colour) to silver.

So I started off with my hair this colour

(excuse the curls, had just uninstalled dreads)

I then tried to strip as much colour as possible by using hot water, head & shoulders, cheap shampoo and fairy washing up liquid. Also read this for more tips
http://www.hairdyeforum.com/index.php?topic=1704.0

once Iíd removed as much colour as I could I then used a blonde dye (in hind sight this was a BAD idea, my hair was ruined as was damaged more than I thought to start off with, you can read about that here)
 http://www.hairdyeforum.com/index.php?topic=2204.msg28308;topicseen#msg28308)

I wish Iíd used bleach baths
http://www.hairdyeforum.com/index.php?topic=995.0

anyway you need to get your to a pale yellow, like the inside of banana. Then you can tone, but I used a silver shampoo: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bonacure-Schwarzkopf-Silver-Shampoo-1250ml/dp/B0027JDG12/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1306096126&sr=8-2-fkmr0
itís seriously good stuff! I havenít even used any silver dye! Is soooooooooooooo good!

This is it so far

Iíd only left the shampoo on for a minute this time. But you can still see how good it is.

Good luck! Any questions feel free to ask

Very nice and helpful Pippa - thanks.
Also, although its off topic, I ADORE your hair in the first photo - the ringlet curls are sooo cute!

Thanks! I had just decided that my next color is going to (hopefully) be gray/silver.

I'm jealous! I want silver hair but I'm a bit scared for my hair since I'm trying to grow it out. I might try gray, though.
