Red to purple hair
« on: 18 Nov 19 / 10:22 AM »
Hi there,

I am getting frustrated with trying to get my hair a nice red without it fading within a couple of washes, so, I want to go back to my trusty purple but how to do it? I am currently using majicontrast rouge on my roots. Then dying a pink based red over the top. Due to the pink hues I guessed a purple would dye over the top fine? I was aiming to use Special Effects deep purple.

Thoughts?

You should really fade it at least a bit. I'd say it'll go really dark and more burgundy if you put on what you have now.

The best way to get a good fade on red is use a pink based red AND an orange based red and mix them. You'll get a much more true red fade then. Also, add some to your conditioner for a little top up each time you wash, it works surprisingly well!
