Hmm, that's a tricky one to answer. The answer I'll plump for is no, but it won't hurt to try!
The reason I say no, is because purple only works on yellow, not orange/red. I think you'd need to lighten it further to get to a strawberry blonde as technically it's lighter. Then maybe use a blue shampoo or dye as that works on orange shades. Having said that, PLEASE do a strand test before putting bleach anywhere near your head as henna can react badly to bleach.
