Which products for my roots?
« on: 24 May 15 / 01:03 AM »
Hi everyone !
So i've decided that i'll not going to hairdresser anymore for my roots. I want to do it by myself! The problem is that I can't find any advice on the internet for my type of hair color.. The ones I found are for platine or very light blond.. My roots are dark brown and my hair color is a strange mix between orange/yellow/brown ( I'll change that in a next step^^) There are some pictures..

So could you explain to me how can I deal with my roots, and which products should I choose?
Sorry if there is some mistakes :)

What do you actually want to get to? What is the overall end result. There's no point in us telling you how to match your lengths if you're just going to change it after :)

Edit, just realised that you posted a photo of what you want.

Firstly, use a colour remover to get rid of the dye in the lengths. You need to get rid of as much of the red as you can.

Then, you just want a good quality bleach powder (I like Indola, but there's others out there). Then a 10 vol peroxide. I don't think you'll need more than that as it doesn't need too much lightening.

Apply the bleach to your roots, get a friend to do it if you need to. You will have to work quickly.

Leave it to develop until it matches your lengths. It shouldn't take long.

Now, this part depends if the base is light enough after the colour removers.

If it is light enough, wash off the bleach.

Let the bleach on your roots develop to the colour it needs to be. Then mix up a bleach bath (there's directions on this in the tutorial section) and VERY carefully apply this to the lengths avoiding the hair you previously bleached (however, the midlengths to the ends look light enough already). It would really be best to do this about a week later.

Use an adore brown. http://www.beeunique.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=151&zenid=8383948012540dd87cee4fdcdb20a987 Hopefully someone else can advise you which to use. In all honesty, I can't be bothered to look at browns as they just don't interest me enough :)

Thank you so much for your answer ! :)
Also do you think that after the bleaching part, if I use this yellow neutralizer with a little of the brown one: http://www.mulato-cosmetics.com/en/repigmentants/
I will no longer need a bleach bath?
