Heat-free curls!
« on: 02 Mar 11 / 01:58 PM »
Hey y'all,

I was looking on YouTube the other day and found this tutorial:

I tried it out last night and it came out brilliantly!  I put pin curls in my hair all the time before bed but they come out too tight and frizzy but these curls were nice and big - but I did look silly walking around with socks in my hair!

I did this the other night and oh my god i have curly hair! And it lasted all day and it's still slightly curly now. Definitely better than using a curling iron for me since my curls drop after a few hours that way. I was so amazed at how it turned out!

i haven't tried that way, but i put my hair into little buns when it's like 70% dry and then leave it over night, et voila curls that last 3days easily =) same as with the 'medussa' it's a bit of a pain getting comfy for sleeping, but looks pretty

I found it worked best on my hair when it was shoulder length and above! I had much tighter curls. After that it's still great but not as ringletty as it was.

Mine is sort of bottoom of the neck length at the front then it's shorter towards the back, guess the shortest bit would be a couple of inches long - still worth a try do you think?

Tried it overnight and I looked like a pink Ronald McDonald this morning! I think it's still too short for it tbh, it was like a bad 80's perm! I took a pic before I put my hair up this morn, I'll post it later so if anyone has any ideas on how to do it differently please let me know! x

Oh no!  I had that problem with pin curling at first but you do get the hang of it.  Did you roll them up or down?  Maybe try taking smaller or larger sections and just curl the bottom so the top stays flat and not to volumus.  They do drop too as the day goes on.  Its trial and error really.  Yeah post the pic!

Gah, silly work computer converts my jpegs into mad files so will have to upload at home. I had the same issue with pin curls as well, I think I might have used too many socks (that sounds bizarre..) but with the different lengths it was difficult to just get it into 3 or 4! x

Finally - here is the pic, I had a half day of panic where I couldn't fine my camera, found it in my handbag that I had already checked three times..don't you hate it when that happens?!

Please excuse my morning bleariness / trampy-ness haha
