Now I'm in the biggest WAG town ever (wilmslow, Cheshire) I figured I'd have to fit I and get my nails done!

Actually, it's been an unexpected blessing. Nail varnish doesn't chip off and they are so thick that I can't pick the skin on my fingers anymore, so they look a billion times better! I had tips (?) put on, shaped to almond shape and then gel (?) put over the top. Or something.

Anyway, what I want to know is how do I tell if she's used a gel top coat? I'll want to change the colour for a wedding on the 27th but worried I won't be able to remove this. I only ask because it seems to be tougher than the first one she used. Or maybe I'm just working a bit less this time! (Glue is the problem, it melts nail varnish and I normally get it on my fingers and nails a lot)

Did it need to be cured under a UV or LED lamp?  If so, it is gel.

If it is gel, you can just paint over it with the regular polish of your choice.
