Eden Bodyworks Coconut Shea Cleansing CoWash
« on: 05 Aug 14 / 12:49 AM »
Ran out of the As I Am Coconut COwash and Walmart restocks the beauty section like 3 times a year, tops so I had to try something else. The Eden Bodyworks product cost more than the As I Am one at my local Walmart but suggested retail price is $8.99 for a 16 oz jar.

The packaging is pretty much the same as the As I Am COwash, a wide mouth jar. It's easy to get product out but I have small hands and have trouble opening and closing it.

It is sulfate free, paraben free, cruelty free and silicone free.

Water (Aqua), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Cetearyl Alcohol, Propanediol, Butryospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Vegetable Oil, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetrimonium Chloride, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Butylene Glycol, Panthenyl Hydroxypropyl Steardimonium Chloride, Propylene Glycol Dibenzoate, Citric Acid, Fragrance (Parfum), Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol

At first I didn't like it much, but it has grown on me. I think Shea butter is a bit too heavy for my fine hair. My hair felt weird after I rinsed it out, like it was coated with something but once it was dry it did not feel like there was any residue. One thing I do like is that my hair always dries straight after using it. Also can't complain that my hair feels dry. I can't even remember the last time I had to do an oil soak to combat dryness. I don't use much in the way of hair products so I can't say if it's an amazing cleanser but it did remove my teasing powder with ease (and I have trouble getting that out with clarifying shampoo).

No problems with hair color fading or bleeding into each other. I have also mixed this with dyes and had the color take with out issue.

Overall I like it and once it's out I'm going to have a tough time deciding if I want to buy this or the As I Am one.
