How often should I?
« on: 16 Jul 14 / 01:21 AM »
I swim and I have turquoise on my hair right now. The question is, how often should I wash my hair if my hair is currently have this type of color? I don't want it to wash out quickly and I've been swimming a lot this summer cause it's so hot in Florida these days but after I'm done swimming I don't wash my hair. Instead of washing it I just put it up and only wash my body. When I do want to wash my hair however: how often should I do it? Opinions? Suggestions?

Do whatever is right for you and your hair. I only wash my hair when it's so dirty I can't take it anymore, which is usually once every 5-7 days.

I used to swim, so I just had to ask... do you think the chlorine should be at least rinsed out after swimming, or do a co-wash?  Or do you wear a cap of some sort when you're in the water?

I'd think chlorine is not good to leave in the hair for an extended time, as it is probably drying and could alter the colour on your hair at the moment.

You need to at least rinse out the chlorine.

Use a swim cap.

If that idea is too horrendous, then maybe try smothering your hair with conditioner before and putting it up. Then rinse it all off when you get out.
