Rose Red w slight ombre
« on: 18 Jun 14 / 05:37 PM »
I wanted to dye my roots for an interview but i didn't feel they were long enough to justify bleaching yet (only bb whole head 4 weeks ago) but i was also enjoying the bright pink colour my hair had gone since dying it 2 weeks ago...

So i decided to dye my roots and mid lengths with a view to have a slight ombre. I did consider bb the ends but i did a test and after 3 mins of a very weak bb my hair goes ginger, not light pink (that'll be the remnants of a red box dye)

Anyway, here is the result (I've covered my face as i have no makeup on)

Its very subtle, the bottom half has a warmer base from when i finished dying red box dyes in September last yr.

My hair needs cutting, but i can't decide what to do with it so its staying as is, until i do.

I love this! You're making me miss bright pink already and I just dyed it yesterday lol. This is gorgeous and I LOVE your cut!
Always remember to consider what your hair is going to feel like after processing it BEFORE you do it! Test strands, treatments/oils are important when it comes to hair, but the most important thing is patience!

Wow I really like this, in fact it may have just inspired me to dye my hair rose red :p I also think the ombre effect is absolutely lovely.

@katiesiepierski Thank you. your new colour looks fab, maybe its just the familiarity of pink you miss! I am so bored with my hair, i know a bob suits me so i just tend to get it trimmed but i have actually just booked a cut for Friday and at the moment i intend to have something different done, but i don't know what yet, i just start getting uncomfortable when it gets to this length as it starts to grow wider as it gets longer. I really like Kelly Osbourne's bob where she had the side cuts and blunt fringed (bangs) but i don't know if i have the guts to do that, I'd like to though, although i'd like to go towards a more vintage look but i have no idea how that translates into my hair as its so thick!!

@Marthakins Thank you, its not quite as visible in person but i tried washing the ends in dish soap today so i might do that each time i wash it to try to exaggerate it. You should do it! Didn't you go flamingo pink yesterday?

Yeah I did, but I had some rose red left from another time and I want it more than flamingo pink now :p I'm surprised you remembered lol.

@Marthakins, i have no idea why i remembered that, but i did have to go back and double check before i wrote it!

Thanks Crowcrow

I've had it cut today & the stylist commented on the ombre, so I'm happy. I usually find hair dressers aren't very positive about home dyed colours.

Thanks Intemp!

So, i had my hair cut today after much debating, i have decided i'd like to grow it into a style like fern cotton's, so its a kind of relaxed/long graduated bob but i didn't have much length to play with. This is what i have got, which looks quid similar to graduated bobs i have before, but its not so cut in at the nape, so it should grow into the style i'd like. I've also got some layers which i haven't had for ages & i'm hoping these will enable me to curl my hair more successfully than having it all one length.
