An Experiment
« on: 27 Jul 13 / 12:34 AM »
Hello!!!
I haven't really been active on here much, sorry, I tend to watch silently.
Anyway
I posted on here 1 year and 1 month (in two days) about dying my hair blue and I kept my hair blue until my one year anniversary of blue. I tried to fade it but it didn't do much and then I bleached it using xxl live box bleach . I actually liked the light blue colour it left behind but because I planned on putting pink over it I wasn't bothered so even though i liked the colour, I was too poor for another bleach kit so I would have to dye it pink. So I decided to risk putting pink over the still fairly blue and patchy hair. But. I did try to leave some of the non patchy bits of blue at the front because again I liked the colour. I didn't dye right up to the roots and there was been some bleeding of pink onto bit of blue making it a purple.
So I just thought I'd put it here.Yeah.  I wasn't sure about putting this in two tone part of the forum or not but since it's mostly pink I thought it would be fine. is it okay to put this here?

Ohh there that picture taken was fairly recently when my hair went crazy after a 2 day 3 night bun :p okay I'll go now. Bye!!

Ha thank you! :) Unfortunately it does just look that way when it's messy like it was in that picture, when it's brushed out it's not thin but it's not thick either. Yeah I was pleased with the colour even though my hair was still a pretty vibrant blue. :)

Thanks Rainiepie :) It's a new colour for me - I was SFX Blue Mayhem before, but I dyed it Directions Turquoise last week (which is the colour in my avatar photo)

Gorgeous hair, gorgeous color! I love that you left some pieces of blue in the front, it really pops against the dark pink. Really suits you, too! :)

Not sure what dye you used, but generally pink is a pretty long lasting color. My *heavily* diluted pink holds for a surprisingly long time, considering how little dye is actually in my mix. Your pink looks pretty dark right now and it also looks like your hair was bleached pretty light underneath, so I think it'll fade nicely, and you might not actually need to re-dye for quite a while, so I wouldn't worry too much! :)

I used Crazy Colour Cyclamen :) Okay thanks, I think the only problem will be my roots but oh well, i'm naturally blonde, it shouldn't look too horrible and that is a lovely shade of pink in the side picture :)

Ah, I was just discussing Crazy Colours in some other topic today, and apparently it doesn't hold all that well. But the consensus is that pink generally has great staying power, no matter the brand, so fingers crossed for you!

And thanks, I'm really into pastels and loving my pink hair! That's diluted SFX Atomic Pink, by far the best pink dye in my opinion. :)

thank you :)

And Nova, I've been very lucky with crazy colour and both me and my mum have the same kind of hair and we've got a bit of a technique going on with this brand :P. We buy the colour a couple of shades darker than we want because after the first wash the aimed colour disappears but leaves a lovely colour underneath that's lighter and lasts for 2-3, possibly 4 months. But this pink seems to be following the pink tradition because that hasn't happened with this dye and ah SFX Atomic Pink, the "permanent semi-permanent" :p I would of got it if I had the money to spare on it.

That's very true, different hair, different reactions. Some people swear by Directions but it never really worked for me. MP isn't all that great either for me, I guess you gotta experiment and find out what works for you, that's why I tend to stick with SFX, my hair likes it. ;)

I hope your pink will hold and fade nicely, keep us updated, would love to see how that fades! :)
