I love making things, but since leaving uni I have only made my sisters prom dress, and I feel bad towards my sewing machine as it needs a bit of a work out!
I was wondering if any of you guys like to get crafty? If you do post examples! I also love looking at free patterns etc online, if you have any good ones post them on here ๐Ÿ˜€

sooo I'll start off, I like this site http://www.cutoutandkeep.net as there's looads of different tutorials for things, from cupcakes to cold remedies! love it!

I love to make my own accessories, clothes and jewelry etc. I also like to paint.
here's a few things I've made:

Domo DSi case

Mad Hatter hat for my old Halloween costume

crocheted jellyfish

Totoro paintings

Jack painting

Totoro phone case

bags

Jack pillow

jewelry

and, er, does baking count? :p

Ok, so I'm a doll nut. But what some of you don't know is that I buy the dolls "blank" and paint their faces on and often make their clothes too. So for instance, my Hujoo Sleepy eye girl went from this:

To this:

And I made her a dress like this:

I did all of this in one evening. I had to sand her eye sockets so her eyes were more open. Then I worked from about 5pm - 9pm one night. The face takes a spray of clear sealant, then I do the make up, then I seal again to keep the make up on.

I made the dress out of a sock! I had some black netting for the skirt. I can't claim I "made" the hat, it was the toe of the sock, I cut it off and stuck it on her head because she doesn't have a wig just yet but I'm working on it.

you are both very awesome, ajc my bf would love that domo case! I love your necklaces and earrings too. mathurine she is beautiful what a skill! i love her eyelashes i wish mine were like that!!

this is an 18th century costume I made at uni for Dangerous Liaisons
modeled by the gorgeous Lizzy who stepped in in the last few weeks to model it! she fitted it perfectly thank god

the reconstructed pound shop hat that I took apart reset and decorated which goes with it haha! styled and coloured the wig too

daisy and violet hilton costume I think Ive posted on here before somewhere

made it all plus styled the wigs

victorian dress from my first year

pride and prejudice and zombies costume

on my fab model matt (this was before I broke it down)

you can see what he looked like on my show night here ^ haha he was minus the specs on stage though...creepy face or what! I cant take credit for that, I just directed the make up.

aaaand done lol

Everyone's crafts are awesome!  I'm a bit of a dabbler in everything.    I really enjoy making jewelry and painting on clothing and accessories as can be seen in my Etsy store by clocking on my website icon over to the left.  Some of the stuff I've painted are:

And some jewelry:

And I love to cosplay!  But it's pretty expensive and time consuming so I don't get to as often as I would like.  Some of the costumes I have made are:

The group photo has me in it again but I also made the green costume on the far right.  ๐Ÿ™‚

Another doll related one:

I bought a female head that had strong male features apart from the nose. I wanted him to have stretched ears too so I made a new nose and new ear lobes. Also I made all the dreadlocks and sewed them into a sock cap that I made so he had a wig:

Here he is with his face on:

He didn't have eyelashes yet in this one but you can see the tattoo on his face:

The tattoo is the kanji symbol for "Chaos".

Oh, and yes, he's a cross dresser hence the heavy make up lol.

Oh my I absolutely love this bag!! Tartan - great, Purple/Plum shade - great, Style - great.  I have a huge bag collection and if I saw one of these in a shop I would snap it up!

I cant believe how creative you all are, it puts my little jewellery sideline to shame lol.

I'm not sure if this counts as crafty but I did this to my new wardrobe

sketched a cat skull, drew over it in permanent marker, tea stained the paper and slotted it into the round panel of my wardrobe. I think it adds a nice touch.

sorry to bump an old topic.

Why do you not all have Etsy shop? -faints- That Cactuar shirt is pure love. I really want a GIR hat, but I am not as good at sewing as I like to think I am. I recently bought a bunch of cabochons and phone cases for my phone and plan to get my decoden on! I'm doing a Hello Kitty one and an all-things-Kyary Pamyu Pamyu one.

Meeshy, you're incredible at sewing.
I sew a bit, but recently everything I make turns out failing..
I don't have loads of money so I tend to do simple things like skirts, I also make my own dresses as I have a 10 inch difference between bust and underbust, which just isn't facilitated in normal clothes ๐Ÿ™
I'm just like.. self taught humming away on my sewing machine so actually feel a bit embarrassed by how amazing you are!

And Matty, those dolls are amazing, I've always liked the idea of those blythe ones, but this is one step further! ๐Ÿ™‚

I stopped sewing over a year ago, and hardly have any photos of stuff I make other than the cosplays/costumes (before I quit)

Eek, such talentedness. I'm particularly envious of all you sewing types, I try really hard but just make a mess whenever the machine comes out. I think what I do counts as craft, I kind of put stuff together to make new stuff. These are some of the bits I did for college last year:

These guys came out as lovers halfway through a photoshoot:

Some poor perished creature from the planet Spong:

This is a tiny tooth from a tooth fairy, you can just see it on the pile of cushions. There are two teeny weeny little lamps in there that light up too, you can just see the one.

I've lost my making mojo recently; I need to get it back speedy though, I have to make things to sell at a steampunk festival in three weeks! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
