I did a test strand using the regular strength version of colour B4 a couple of days ago. It worked well on removing a semi-permanent black box dye from parts of my hair that haven't been bleached. Oddly, part of the test strand that I had bleached and dyed with Manic Panic midnight blue turned blonde but the blue dye came back when I rinsed, but only when I put the strand under the hot tap. It remained blonde when rinsed under the cold tap. It is a lot lighter than what it was though. Unfortunately, I need to get a new battery for my camera and can't get a decent pic on my webcam.

I did another test strand and only rinsed with cold water but the dye still came back eventally. On another test strand I found that if I kept dunking the section in hot water almost all of the dye came out. The buffer on its own only lightened my hair a little.

hi, i have just used this product on hair that i had been dyeing LiveXXL red passion for about 8 months. i had then put a blonde on top of it to try and tone it down which worked a bit, made it a bit browner. [used nice&easy]
then i used this product and it worked exactly as i thought it would, as long as you follow the instructions to the letter [rinsing etc] and havnt been bashing your hair with heat, it should work. my hair went to a light orange/blonde colour.
    BUT.
i didnt put dye on straight away, as i wanted to give my hair a rest, and now every time i've washed it since my hair seems to get darker and more near my original colour! sad times!

I have had swapped a number of e-mails with Scott he has even been kind enough to send me some to try i will be testing and writing a review in due course.
From all the information Scott has provided me with with it sounds most effective and as good as any professional colour removers. Like so many products they don't work miracles in so many cases it's applied with out following the instructions. to remove and re colour the same day is a big no no. Colour removers shrink the artificial colour molecule you then clarify washing them out. colour the same day adding peroxide just re oxidizes pigment that is left in the hair.  more info when i have played with it!

     Shocked

I tried this product yesterday and it did work just not the way i had hoped!!!!

I had black hair and have been dying my hair this colour for years, i have never used any bleach in my hair or peroxides--- basically i have never touched any lightening products and my natural hair colour is a medium ASH brown.... which means I have no sort of red tones in my hair...

Once I had removed the product and followed the steps my hair had gone a LOT lighter than it is naturally??? It has an awful ginger tinge to it as well; i did research this and apparently it can happen but only if you have used bleach on your hair previously??
I find this very strange because I have never used a red dye or a warm tone colour on my hair and it certainly isn't my natural colour if it has gone lighter!!!!

Has anyone else experienced anything similar??

How long have you be colouring your hair Black? have you been using permanent colour formulation? if yes then every time you have deposited the black you have also in the process lifted your own natural hair pigment, permanent hair colour is a process of lift and deposit. when going darker you don't need to do this A demi formulation is quite enough.
As the B4 remover shrinks out the artificial colour molecules  the red ginger you are left with is your own hair pigment lightened by the peroxide in the black hair colour product caused by years of use!  what is your target colour? MikeB2MR

hi,i've used this product with gr8 results !!! Grin. i have natural aurburn hair and had a bright coppery orangey colour put on at the salon which faded after about 3 washes  Embarrassed!!! i deceided to get manic panic infra red to put over the top to liven it up which it did and the results were brilliant  Grin!!!! it was still coming out after more than 10 washes and i fanced trying hi octane orange next so i bought colour b4 to get rid of the residue.the rinsing part seemed to take forever and my hair felt sort of sticky and gloopy while rinsing and using the buffer a really weird feeling as if i had glue in my hair.after all that the end result was good and my hair was sort of coppery yellowish which will be ideal for applying the orange.this product left my hair soft and very clean like a detox shampoo so i'd recommend it.gonna bleach a couple of sections to apply some atomic turquoise too  Wink!!!! My suggestion would be to go on to Scott Cornwall web site post the question get a reply direct form him. I do have e=mails from him about B4 and fashion colour but feel it unfair to quote third hand he is a very helpful knowledgeable professional.

Hi I am very impressed with Scott Cornwalls invention!!!! Wow how clever is he?  I am a 40 year old woman who has been dying my hair for years to cover my greys. I am naturally a medium dark brown and naturally have a lot of red tones within my hair. I have had to use permanent dyes as they were the only thing that would cover my grey hairs 100%. After years of build up I have become so fed up of my dark brown almost black hair NOW!!!! I have been to the hairdressers in the past and had it stripped but not been that impressed with the results. However i am amazed to say that colour b4 extra strength has given me 10 x better results. From a dark brown/ black it is now a chestnut brown which i like!! Perhaps a little bit gingery at the roots which i will try and rectify with a loving care ( level one) ash light brown tomorrow. But amazed!!! The best colour remover on the market!!!! AND it gets better....... hair in lovely condition. 101 out if 100. Well done Scott Cornwall!!! xxx

I've never joined a forum before, felt I had to after using colour b4 this weekend.
    Highly recommend to all!
I had highlighted brown with blonde hair before dying it a spiced chocolate colour that went nearly black on my hair.
I hated it and was prepared to wait for it to fade but heard about colour b4 and thought may aswell give it a whirl.
Would recommend to anybody with a hair disaster wanting to restore previous or natural hair colour. Sure I will end up using again when I get bored and end up dying to a colour I hate!

I saw this product on sale in my local Superdrug and was really tempted to get some and try it out, but wanted to find out more about it first to make sure it was suitable for me before forking out £12 for it.

I shaved my head last year and once my hair (naturally reddish brown) had grown back thick enough to spike up, I dyed it XXL Cyber Purple. Last time I used this colour several years ago it was absolutely gorgeous, a vibrant reddish purple with a lovely pinkish purple shine. However, it went on really dark this time, and faded to a horrible purplish brown Sad When that grew out a bit I decided to try the Red Passion, which, again, had previously come out beautifully on my hair. And again, this time it went on too dark, and faded to a horrible colour Sad Also, a week after applying the red, I used the Deep Black to put streaks all through my hair, which have also faded considerably Sad

Having read through these reviews and seen that XXL colours are difficult to get out, and that both good and bad results have been achieved using Colour B4 to get rid of XXL, I really don't know if I would have any joy with this, and it's a lot of money wasted if it doesn't work Sad Also, I have at least an inch of root regrowth; does this product affect virgin hair in any way?

This product does not affect virgin hair.

As Niccki has said before, she e-mailed the guy who made this stuff, and aparently XXL has a lot of silicones in it, which boil at 200 degrees C. So if you've been straightening your hair at 200 degrees C, you may have really boiled this colour onto your hair, so your success with colour b4 may be limited. But its not going to damage your hair, if you want rid of the colour, there is really only one way to find out if it works - try it!

Well, since my hair grew back after shaving it off I have not used any heat styling whatsoever, and don't plan on doing so again as it seriously damaged my hair before Sad

I'll leave it for another couple of weeks, at which point I will have the cash to spare, so look forward to trying it and seeing what happens Smiley

I used colour b4 extra strength after XXL Red Passion and Mystic Violet - although honestly I think most of the Mystic Violet has washed out even though its supposed to be permanent - its actually why I wanted to use the colour b4 so I could tell next time if the Mystic Violet just washed out or whether it faded to a reddish colour.
I did 2 applications of the colour b4 extra strength about a week apart - it didn't get it all and I was very ginger (I'm sure it wasn't my natural colour after lightening because my hair doesn't naturally have a lot of pigment - I'm a mousey blond) but much of my hair has had at least 6 applications of different permanent dyes over the last few years - I haven't seen my natural colour in over 10 years. I don't use straighteners any more but I used to, hard to say how much of my current hair has been heat treated. I was pleased with the results, I was hoping to go back to my natural colour but after reading the leaflet about how even dark dyes use a lightening action, I had realistic expectations of the result. I wouldn't recommend doing it if you don't intend to dye over the top of it later.
