Fire ombre hair :)
« on: 28 Aug 15 / 09:43 PM »
So I posted a few weeks ago asking for help with a fire ombre. I wanted three definitive colours but when I did it I was left with barely two (will include a pic). However with some awesome advice from some of you guys I have now my beloved tri ombre fire hair! :D

Thanks to those who helped me, adore is amazing haha.

This is when I first started.. as you can see you can barely see any different bewteen the red and orange and yellow was non existent.

And then this is now! :D

I'm just wondering how you stopped the red bleeding down into the yellow? I have the same hair colour.

This is really pretty, such a awesome job on the seemless transition but yet still having those 3 distinct colors!
life is too short to have boring hair...

Does anyone know how to stop the red bleeding down into the yellow? I usually use special effects cause no other red lasts as well.

You have to dilute the colours before hand. It's really the only way. You add enough conditioner to the dye so that it doesn't dilute the colour at all. You just want to even out the amount of pigment in the dye so it's not going to be coming out in huge amounts. It still might stain the yellow a bit, but it will help a lot.

Once you've done that, avoid using shampoo and it'll stop even more coming out when you wash.

Ah, cool! Any specific conditioner or just one without silicone?

Cheap and white. Try to avoid any that look like they have a sort of pearlescent look. I've found that they make the dye look a bit funny and kind of mask the colour in an odd way. So, cheap and as plainly white as possible! I dont find silicone being in it makes a difference at all, but some have said it does, so it's up to you. Most cheapy conditioners don't have it anyway.
