Bloggers!
« on: 27 May 15 / 05:19 PM »
Any of you have beauty or fashion blogs? Or any other blog? Thought it'd be nice to share our links! There was a thread years ago so I thought it'd be good to have a recent one. I blog a bit and read blogs quite often, mine is a mix of personal, beauty & fashion and showing items from my accessories shop. My blog is http://glitterpixaccessories.blogspot.co.uk/

I've been meaning to start a fashion/beauty blog for ages and this post kicked me up the butt so I made one. Hopefully I can keep up with it.

I started a blog for my self made amigurumi patterns. But.. it has only one post (well, and an introductory post). I'm busy remaking the catbug (the one I made for Marthakins on this forum!) to make good pics for the blog. I need to push myself a bit though, otherwise it'll just be collecting dust.

The link is www.madebyrij.com

I'll take a look at your blogs too! Maybe I can learn something, Made by Rij is my first time attempting a blog. :)

Your profile pic (and current avatar on this forum) is truely stunning! Do you have someone to take your pictures or do you use the timer?

Looks really nice and has a friendly, conversational tone - but don't forget to spell check  ;) (no shade intended, I'm the worst for it, I'm dyslexic! But spotted a couple of wee mistakes!)

Yeah it's a lot of work to get something like that up and going, but stick at it and I'm sure you'll do really well! I shall keep an eye on it and comment as you go along.

I just had a look and it is still full of spelling mistakes, and the Crazy Color article is mis-numbered.
If spellcheck is missing that many words you will need to get someone to proof read it for you.

Well, you asked for feedback, you didn't actually specify what on, so they were just pointing out things that could be improved upon which they thought would be helpful. You would benefit greatly from a proof reader, I know I'd do that if I took up blogging :)

I'm sorry you have so many issues to deal with.

My honest feedback would actually be: learn to take constructive criticism and honest feedback! I tried to word it gently as I can tell you haven't maybe had experience of having to learn that yet (Any of us who have done creative courses learn that hard and fast right away) but you have to separate someone suggesting their opinion of something that can help you and someone attacking you personally - particularly if you are asking for feedback in the first place!

It can be difficult if you are under a lot of stress, many of us have a lot of conflicting priorities in life and perhaps you need to consider how much of your time this blog would realistically take up and whether it is time you can afford to spend on it. I'm sorry if you feel attacked by anyone but I don't think anybody deliberately came here to make you feel bad.

To be honest a lot of what you guys resonated with me - my spellings grammar need vast improvement, I don't have the time as I am a carer for my disabled fiance and am doing a computing course (working towards a degree). When my course is over then it is somthing I can consider.....thanks for the advice guys. Just got a not over excited Lol.
