Just to update, I ended up doing another round of this, and it took everything out! This time I used equal amounts coconut oil and shampoo (I didn't use any before), and carefully applied it section by section like I would dye. It did get dry again, but I made sure to rinse very thoroughly, and the Cure Care took care of it instantly! My hair is still soft :)

That's awesome BabyJ! It's so different seeing you with blonde and not your blue and purple, the blonde looks really good on you too :) And it looks so shiny, healthy and soft - so pretty! Glad you're still liking this treatment and the Cure Care conditioner, you can't beat it for what, $7-8 a gallon!
Always remember to consider what your hair is going to feel like after processing it BEFORE you do it! Test strands, treatments/oils are important when it comes to hair, but the most important thing is patience!

Cure Care is literally like a godsend!  Haha!  Seriously, my hair loves it so much.  I can't wait to get back to co-washing!

Thank you!  I am doing blue and teal.  Super excited about it :)  I just did my roots and will dye this weekend.

I tried this this morning because i am going to change my colour (haven't decided what to yet) and it worked really well, i quite like the peachy colour I'm left with, despite there being some patchy pink bits left.

I plan to do another one of these in a weeks time, then bleach bath my roots a week after that. ready to colour.

What a pretty result @Sia! I am seriously inlove with this fading treatment and I'm just so thrilled that it's working out so well for everyone

It hasn't worked on Virgin Rose for me :( Dammit, I knew I shouldn't have used it!

(Actually I don't think I put enough on - reading back I usually saturate my hair with it but I didn't this time. DOH. Might try again.)

Whenever the ends of my hair that are supposed to be yellow turn orange from washing I use this method. I tend to get better results color wise with out the oils but my hair feels much, much better when I include them. Not sure which way I like it best because just bleach and shampoo makes my hair feel like crap and the dryness is pretty persistent. I think I'll maybe try less oil next time and see if it pulls the orange out better with out leaving my hair looking like a tumbleweed.

God Katie, I will definitely try this if I ever get a stubborn colour again! (I wish I knew about this when I was Directions Turquoise!)

I did this again today & it got rid of all the pinky bits! Really dislike the colour i'm left with, but i really need to resist the urge to colour it now & stick with my plan.

After, i washed with Pantene clarifying shampoo then applied kpak resconstructor and left on for 20mins, then i used aussie 3 min miracle & my hair feels goooood 8)

I am going to bleach bath my roots next wednesday then apply a fresh colour (which i haven't decided on yet- suggestions welcome)

Next time you go to Sallys + you have a spare $7-8 try out their Cure Care Hair and Skin conditioner. It's a gallon, usually on the bottom shelf, silicone + fragrance free, but it does have keratin in it. It's like the hair just drinks it right up, it has worked great on everyone I've tried it on so far. You might like it! I love using it after this, my hair always feels right back to normal

As expected, not much shifted for me but it did lift tiny bits. The dye was already 3-4 months faded with a build up of turquoise both mixed and pure/flu glow of at least 18 months.

Before:

After:

Might give this another try in a week to see how far I can get it and then cover it with purple or something.

It looks a little paler. Your hair looks in great condition though, it's lovely :)

Yeah the condition is mostly okay apart from that-one-chunk I've always struggled with in general.

I am not sure it will go much further than this in general, I might just go around the wheel if its not shifting over that point.

This looks really great but I'm only seeing people who're using it on veggie dyes. Do you think it would work the same for permanent dyes?

I think you would get better results with a colour remover for permanent dyes

Nah those never worked on my hair and the smell was too much anyway. I covered that green are with purple-ish shade and probably going to cover over that with pink shades

I must say I am simply amazed by this. I dyed my hair black in march after being pillar box red for ages so I have been off the radar when it comes to hair dying, I come back on here when I'm going back to red and this amazing discovery has been made!

Just wondering, has anyone tried this method yet when fading out red? Would love to see any results!

a quick question. I'd like to get a more vibrant colour (I currently have a darkish purple going on from a directions plum mix). Would it be worth using this method and a bleach bath to lighten my colour (considering I'm not going for a change in colour, I just want it lighter/brighter) or would that be unnecessary damage where just a bleach bath would do?
