Pluz size thigh high stuff

I am trying to find a decent seller/store where you can find TRUE plus sized thigh high socks, having truly massive calves and thighs means most of the over the knee are hardly under the knee at full stretch. Anyone knows of any?

I've just ordered some from Torrid.com.  I'm not sure if they post internationally, and I'm in the US.  My thighs are massive... they measure 65cm where the thigh high stockings fall.  I got the size 3/4 and they fit great... though they do like to roll down a bit.

Nonsense.  Don't talk so harsh about yourself... I'm sure you're absolutely gorgeous!  :D  Big thighs don't equal awful looking.  They're just big.

I wish I knew of a way to keep the stockings from rolling down.  The ones I got were the lace-up ones.  They have like sticky rubber strips on the inside around the top which help hold them up, but they do still like to roll down a bit.  I'm not big on full tights.  They're a PITA when you have to pee!  LOL!  ;)

I am super complexed about my legs, they are muscular AND fat and I never really worn a dress that shows my knees because in my head they look monstrous lol.

I remember having a pair like that 6 years ago, they kept rolling down unless I had girdles with them, but that felt like too much effort to wear other than for cosplaying.
Full thighs, I have russian nightmares from those, specially if the weather is a bit warm and then you can forget about being able to pull them up without spending an extra 10 minutes :D

can I ask a personal question ladies? As a large thighed woman I can't wear a dress without leggings or tights coz my thighs rub together and chafe really badly, and I HATE wearing tights as wearing anything tight round my waist makes me claustrophobic (weird I know!) does that not happen to you?

I don't like it when it sits exactly on my waist as well, it feels funny. I always try to roll it down a bit and let it rest on my fat cushions :P

I hate wearing tights for a whole different reason though, once you have to pee in them you'll just never get it right again if you are a bit warmed up :P

LOL... I totally get it.  My new leggings (which I love) sit at my waist.  And, even though I am a big girl, I still have an hourglass figure.  I don't like the feeling of that around my middle, at all.  It does feel a bit claustrophobic/panicky.  I've not quite figured out how to roll the waist down successfully without it continuing to head south, though.  ;)  And yeah, tights are a total PITA once you've had them on and then used the toilet.  Good lord... it's like wrestling a wet bathing suit back on.  :P

Ha good I'm not a complete weirdo then! I hate wearing jeans for the same reason, if the button touches my belly button it makes me cringe!! Tights are just pure evil though, even around my toes they make me feel ill! I wish I could wear dresses with bare legs more but it's too sore on my thighs!

lauralei - I get the thigh chafing thing too, so for the summer, I buy cheap thin leggings, and cut them off above the knee, making them into shorts to wear under dresses and skirts. That way I can still wear dresses & skirts, but without the full length leggings underneath, so stay cooler in the summer.

Pippa, I totally get that! I even wear socks inside out!
Mindi, that's a great idea! I can handle leggings much better than tights as they don't have that thin waistband that digs in, I sometimes get the capri length ones for under short dresses but they look silly with pencil skirts and other knee length stuff. Do they fray badly or roll up?

I'm a dressmaker/seamstress, so I overlock the edges and sew them. But if they're cheap anyway, I wouldn't mind if they only lasted a few wears!

That's a great idea, Mindi!  I've tried some shape wear to help with that... but I had the problem of the waist band of those digging into my middle which is what I wanted to avoid in the first place.  :s  lauralei, another option might be to try and get some of the workout style shorts.  They're usually made of spandex so they fit snug but not like shape wear, and wouldn't drag against your pencil skirts.

unfortunately my claustrophobia also includes anything that feels shiny (silk, spandex, viscose) so cycle shorts are out! (I know I'm really strange! I can't wear anything with a high neck or anything knitted or fleece that has to be puled on over my head either - button up cardigans are the only option!) I think the cut down leggings is my best bet, I guess as you say Mindi, considering they're like 3 a pair in Primark it's not a tragedy if they don't last! Yeah I tried the shapewear shorts but like you say Cupcake, I couldn't stand them being tight on my waist!

I don't know if they still have them, but last year peacocks had cycling short length leggings, so they were above the knee shorts but made from the same material as leggings, if that makes sense?

I like maternity tights, pulled right up so the 'waistband' sits on my ribcage. That way it gives me a smooth outline without flab rolls at my waist, but might also work for you ladies who get weird about tight things on your waists.
As for the original question, have you tried Evans? I have bought hold-up stockings from them that don't dig in, and they went up to really big sizes. Not sure if they do over the knee socks, but if they do they will be designed for generous thighs.
